酈英傑處長也代表AIT寫下

MOFA Minister Joseph Wu visited a memorial to late President Lee Teng-hui at the Taipei Guest House today accompanied by the director of the American Institute in Taiwan, William Brent Christensen.
Minister Wu stated that President Lee established Taiwan’s democratic system and changed the nature of Taiwan’s diplomatic efforts, earning us more friends and support in the international community through shared values and a common way of life.
Director Christensen offered the following words of condolence to the people of Taiwan in this time of grief:
“On behalf of AIT, I offer my sincere condolences to the people of Taiwan on the passing of President Lee Teng-hui, a champion of freedom. President Lee played an essential role in Taiwan's transformation to democratic government. President Lee will be long remembered for his courage and wisdom. -AIT Brent Christensen”
